New Yoga Class for Beginners Draws on Deep Rooted Tradition

Local people in Stafford are being offered a new yoga class based on authentic classical yoga with a deep rooted tradition, a perfect antidote for busy modern lives.

Starting in September, the Satyananda yoga class is open to anyone new to yoga regardless of age, fitness, ability or experience. As well as helping people to develop strength and flexibility in muscles and joints, the class will help people improve body awareness, learn breathing techniques to improve energy levels and develop the ability to relax at will.

The integral style of yoga being taught at the class at Weeping Cross is a more meditative style of classical yoga, focused on relaxation and stress reduction. Sue Tupling, is a certified Satyananda yoga teacher, brings 12 years of teaching experience and a passion for this style of tantric yoga frm India.

Sue said: " I am delighted to be bringing this form of yoga to Stafford. Satyananda yoga is very different in that it deals more with one's whole being and teaches in a slow and very systematic way. It is ideal for beginners, as it starts very gently, but utilizes awareness of the breath from the start, and works with many layers of the self.

"People feel the benefits of relaxation immediately, and the physical benefits develop as the postures gradually get stronger as you adjust to the practice. People attending will feel the benefits of relaxation immediately. It is also an ideal way to embark more deeply on the inner journey to self, connect with one's deeper wisdom, and prepare the mind for meditation."

The classes are open to anyone over the age of 18 and will run every Tuesday starting on September 6thfrom 6:30pm - 8:00pm at St Anne's Church Hall, Lynton Avenue, Weeping Cross, Stafford, ST17 0EA

Those interested are welcome to come along to try the class for one or two sessions to see if it suits them at £7.50 or £60 for the full course, paid in advance.

If you would like to get involved or find out any more information about the class please contact Sue Tupling on 07411178380 or visit the website www.embodiedliving.co.uk for more details.
