The appointment of a new After-sales Operation Manager is set to take customer support to a new level at the UK's number one provider of heavy-duty vehicle lifting solutions. 

Chris Smith joins TOTALKARE after working for a number of years in the commercial vehicle sector, most recently as an after-sales operation manager. Prior to that, the 29-year-old built up extensive workshop experience working in commercial vehicle bodywork and tail lift repairs.

In his new role Chris will be responsible for further improving operational efficiency and building on the advances made following the introduction of the company's market-leading AfterKare service package, and he says he is looking forward to the challenge. 

"I joined TOTALKARE to take my career in a new direction with new products and I'm really excited about building on the fantastic work the company has already done to enhance its offer to customers," he said. "I've also been impressed with the culture here and the opportunities for career progression.

"Everyone is focused on helping customers to improve productivity and efficiency whilst reducing costs and inconvenience."

One of Chris's first tasks at the Halesowen-based company will be the implementation of a new automated scheduling system. Designed to help manage the ever growing service and call-out needs of the business, the system will ‘go live' before the end of the year.

Chris will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of the After-sales Department, managing engineers in the field and in the factory to ensure the efficient delivery of services to customers.

Scott Gilliam, TOTALKARE Service Manager, added: "Chris has already made a great impression at the company offering lots of ideas on how we can move the After-sales Department forward still further."
