Daniel Radcliffe visa problem easily avoided, says Garth Coates Solicitors
Immigration specialists Garth Coates have responded to news of actor Daniel Radcliffe’s recent visa trouble.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe ran into some trouble with American border guards while trying to cross the border from Canadian-American border as it’s been revealed he had failed to upgrade his visa.

The actor had recently travelled to Canada to attend the Toronto premiere of his brand new movie “What if” with co-star Zoe Kazan to celebrate his 25th birthday. However, his plans to return to the US for his first ever appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con were put on hold until he could get a stamp of approval from the US embassy in Toronto, resulting him getting stranded at the border. According to the Post, Daniel was in the process of updating his P-2 visa to an O-1 enabling the actor to spend up to three years in the US, opposed to the limit of a year with a P-2 type. Despite the request being approved, that didn’t stop the actor from running into problems.

‘He’s stuck in Toronto with visa problems,’ an unknown source told the New York Post, explaining that he was unable to get through as the ‘[The U.S. embassy’s] computer system was down.’

London based immigration law Firm Garth Coates regularly reacts to news relevant to their industry. A spokesperson for the company explained that the problem is more frequent than many would believe:

“It’s a very common issue,” stated the representative. “Of course when it happens to a celebrity it’s headline news and everyone sits up and takes notice, but it’s far from a rare issue for ordinary people who are on holiday abroad.

“Some people can easily forget to include a piece of crucial information on forms. That’s why we always tell people that it’s better to be safe than sorry and get professional help if you need it.”
