Avalon Appoints Adam Fisher to Growing Business Development Team

Avalon, one of Europe’s leading providers of pre-paid funeral plans, has appointed a new Business Development Manager, Adam Fisher, to its growing Business Development team. The appointment underlines Avalon’s determination to build mutually beneficial partnerships with later life planning organisations across the UK.

Adam joins Avalon from the Co-operative Funeralcare where he managed the commercial relationships with its distribution partners such as AXA Wealth and Aviva. He worked on B2B customer propositions (offline & online) to increase the commercial returns for both the Co-operative and its partners.

Before joining The Co-operative Group, Adam spent almost eight years at Freedom Finance (now Moneio Ltd), one of the UK's leading online loan brokers. As Commercial Manager, Adam worked closely with Asda to host Moneio's loan finder service. Having joined Freedom Finance as Operations and Divisional Manager, Adam had previously managed a team of nine sales managers, increasing conversions by 10%.

Prior to these roles, Adam was, for two years, Operations Manager for Action for Employment (A4e), the public service provider that offers employment, welfare and training support to unemployed people. He managed Operations across five offices in Cheshire employing 61 staff.

Adam’s first management role was at Dun and Bradstreet, the global business information and credit reference agency. For 12 years, he was responsible for a customer service centre handling 2,000 inbound calls every day and an annual revenue target of £15 million.

Speaking about his appointment, Adam said: “Avalon is a progressive and ambitious company. With my commercial and operational background, I believe I can help this business to continue to grow and become the funeral plan provider of choice for customers and distribution partners alike.”

Jo Darbyshire, Commercial Director at Avalon, said: “Adam’s appointment strengthens our position as a first-class funeral planning provider offering a great level of service to customers and partners. Adam is a confident and focused individual with a proven track record of business development. His enthusiasm for funeral planning and skills in relationship management will be a great asset for Avalon.”

Avalon protects customers from rising funeral costs and their loved ones from the worry of arranging a funeral when the time comes. Avalon’s three comprehensive packages, Balmoral, Highgrove and Windsor Way are available in the UK. Avalon funeral plans are also available in Spain, Portugal, Tenerife, Cyprus, Malta and Turkey.
