Kelkay expands reach with membership of National Merchant Buying Society
Kelkay, the
market-leading manufacturer and distributor of aggregates, paving, fountains
and garden features, has become a supplier member of the National Merchant Buying Society
(NMBS).
The NMBS is
a centralised buying society for independent builders and timber, hardware,
plumbing and heating merchants. With over 1,000 members and 3,000 branches, its
buying power exceeds £1.2 billion. The NMBS is non-profit retaining and owned
by its members.
Kelkay joins
a supplier portfolio of over 600 businesses in the society, having finalised a
two-year trading agreement.
Speaking of
the development, Antony Harker, managing director at Kelkay said: “NMBS is the
most successful buying group in the UK and we are very proud to become members.
It is a very exciting development of the business and we have already seen an
increase in enquiries, the membership will offer Kelkay a range of fantastic
opportunities.”
Kelkay will
be exhibiting at the NMBS Exhibition on Thursday 16 April 2015 at the Ricoh
Arena in Coventry. In 2014, over 650 members attended. This year’s event is
expected to be the biggest to date, with offers available for the one day only.
Showing many
of its most popular products, Kelkay is offering a free thermal mug to the
first 250 visitors to its stand and an Apple TV with all orders over £1,500
excluding VAT.
Kelkay will
be on stand 262.
Kelkay’s
brand portfolio includes Borderstone®, Build Mate, easyfountain® and Henri®, providing retailers with a single source of
supply for a wide range of garden products. These include aggregates, stone,
water and garden features, paving, edging and walling, building materials, horticulture
and winter products.
By promoting
aggregates, paving and fountains with eye-catching point of sale, merchandising
units and display stands, garden retailers have seen sales grow in these
categories.
