Q-Park opens the newly refurbished

Cornmarket Square car park in Limerick

Q-Park are delighted to announce the opening of the newly refurbished Cornmarket Square car park in Limerick City Centre. The 491 space location is the third facility in their Limerick portfolio.

Q-Park have long held a strong presence in the Treaty City and have built a reputation for providing an excellent parking experience for both regular and first-time visitors to the city. They have operated two other very popular parking facilities for a number of years. Q-Park Harvey's Quay is a very large facility connected to Dunnes Stores located on the banks of the River Shannon. It is popular with visitors to hotels, tourist attractions and even Thomond Park. On the other hand, Q-Park Henry Street has become very well-used by Limerick's commuters.

When Q-Park acquired in Cornmarket Square car park in 2023 it had been closed for 18 months and had fallen over time into a state of disrepair. Quality is at the heart of the Q-Park business and made the decision to undertake a full refurbishment to bring it up to their exacting standards. Over the last few months extensive works have been taking place including structural repairs, new flooring, the installation of LED Lighting, clear signage and a complete overhaul of the pedestrian lobbies.  Secure vehicle and pedestrian entrances have been commissioned to reduce the risk of unwanted visitors entering the car park.  There will also be the futuristic PaSS Automatic Number Plate Recognition system installed to provide seamless access for both long term and short-term parkers as well as opening up the facility for mobility partners to grant access to their target audiences. Q-Park are well-known for providing convenient services in their parking facilities for customers to avail of. In this case the car park will have jump leads and an AED with others to follow in the near future. Q-Park have also installed an initial 7 Electric Vehicle Charging Points as so customers can top up their Electric Vehicle whilst visiting Limerick.

The Cornmarket Square parking facility allows Q-Park to expand their reach into a new area of the City Centre. The car park is located just around the corner from the famous Milk Market. This market has served fresh local food, baked goods, treats, vintage clothing, and much more since 1852 and is one of Limerick's main landmarks. Q-Park Cornmarket Square is also very well placed for visitors to Limerick's other attractions, restaurants and shops as well as being ideal for commuters due to its central and easily accessible location.

Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK & Ireland commented ‘We are delighted to be able to grow our portfolio in Limerick and look forward to welcoming new customers to the Cornmarket Square car park. It is testament to our strong reputation that we are able to expand aggressively whilst still offering a Quality service to our customers. We would welcome the opportunity to speak to any property owner regarding their asset and what we can do to add value to it.
