GLENTURRET DISTILLERY AND THE FAMOUS GROUSE EXPERIENCE SCOOP 3 ICONS OF WHISKY ACCOLADES

Glenturret Distillery in Crieff is raising a triple tipple after scooping up three accolades at this year's Whisky Magazine's Icons of Whisky Awards. Scotland's oldest and most visited distillery, which recently marked 240 years distilling whisky from its current location in Crieff, battled it out against some high calibre competition featuring many of Scotland's other top distilleries.

Securing the awards for Distillery Manager of the Year for Neil Cameron, Whisky Visitor Attraction Manager for General Manager Stuart Cassells and Commendation Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year for The Famous Grouse Experience, the team were in high spirits after attending the event held in the Surgeon's Hall in Edinburgh.

In what has been Scotland's Year of Food & Drink, one of the country's oldest whisky distillers has truly made its mark on the whisky world, launching a two limited edition malts, The Brock Malloy and The James Fairlie, as well as re-launching its core range of malts with a focus on taste profiling. One of their 2014 releases was also named in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.

Stuart Cassells, the driving force behind Glenturret's return to the limelight and General Manager of The Famous Grouse Experience, said:

"The distillery team are beyond excited to have won two Icons of Whisky Awards this year as well as maintain an accolade for Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year for the second year running. We are truly delighted to see The Glenturret get the recognition it deserves as the only remain hand mashed whisky in Scotland. I'm especially pleased to see Neil recognised for his work as Distillery Manager of the Year - it's a tremendous achievement."
