Press Release: 80-Year-Old Writer Releases 6 Books (& 1 Is Free) For Christmas!

ADVANCE INFORMATION

Six New eBooks Released In Time For Christmas (& one is free!) - That's Christmas Sorted For The Family!

Happy Christmas from Lotte Moore!

The Books: Two short story collections, an autobiography, a novel, a children's book and a FREE short story!

Marvellous Mavis(the free book!) is one of Lotte Moore's most important and personal projects. Based on her beloved Aunt Lavender who passed away a few years ago, the story of this crazy, eccentric lady gave Lotte the freedom she desired to write about her beloved Auntie in depth. The fun and poignancy of her life showed courage in someone verging on Alzheimer's yet unaware of her generous-spirited behaviour. Mavis' eccentric and crazy behaviour is a result of her age and senile forgetfulness, but her gaiety and fun is contagious to everyone she meets. Her move to an old people's home becomes akin to a pantomime ending with a wild escapade to the local pub.

In The Fast Laneis Lotte's first novel, based on her observations of friends and family rushing about in a frenetic state, never stopping to be still or listen to silence. Her novel depicts three couples struggling with modern life in different ways. If you don't spot elements of yourself you'll certainly know someone who fits the bill!

[image]Snippets of a Lifetimeis Lotte's life story in the ballet and theatre and then into motherhood and as a writer. Living through WW2 Lotte's perspective is refreshing and full of vitality. She's an incredible woman who has lived and laughed... a lot.

The Author

Lotte Moore is an 80-year-old writer on a mission. Her myriad children's stories (includingThe Invisible Elephant,The Dinosaur Who Ate A PianoandThe Teaspoon Family) are enjoyed by primary school boys and girls around the country, particularly when they get a visit from Lotte, during which she inspires the children with her readings, and wartime stories of rationing and bombings. Lotte has written and published more than 16 books and new releases, including her autobiographySnippets of a Lifetime(due for re-release in early 2016). Despite writing stories since her childhood, Lotte only blossomed as a writer in her 70s. She was born into a literary family. Her father,John Pudney, wrote poetry (including the popular WW2 poem ‘For Johnny'), novels and biographies. Her grandfather,Sir Alan Herbert, was a prolific writer, satirist and librettist. As a child, Lotte lived in Kent with her parents who enjoyed entertaining, political debate and literary discussion with the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, H E Bates, W H Auden and Benjamin Britten. She was often lonely and turned to writing (stories, diary, poems and letters) to express her feelings of isolation. In her early teens her commitment turned to ballet, point shoes replaced the pen. She was selected by the Royal Ballet School to dance in the Opera Ballet. When rejected for growing ‘too tall' Lotte turned to acting and intermittently to writing. She finally married aged 38 to her loyal husband Chris (who continues to support Lotte by typing our her hand-written stories). Lotte became immersed in her stepchildren and then her own two girls. When her daughters left home she describes "empty years" filled by illness and family problems. Sadly her parents died before her writing career flourished. Lotte lives in London, on the River Thames, and at this time of year can be found entertaining young and old in her local area by putting on nativity plays with a ‘real' baby performing the part of Jesus - much to the admiration of the old ladies and gents in the care homes and community centres they perform in.

"I find young children incredibly inspiring, their imagination propels me into action. A child's openness and vulnerability are gifts to an adult writer."
