Regions fastest selling used cars revealed
Quickest models off the forecourt across the UK named by Glass's
The fastest selling used cars in different parts of the country have been named by Glass's, publishers of the motor trade bible, Glass's Guide.
The results, covering the last month of sales, give a fascinating insight into the priorities of different buyers in different parts of the country, said Rupert Pontin, Glass's Head of Valuations.
Nationally, the overall bestseller is the Chevrolet Cruze hatchback, taking 27.2 days to sell at a price of £6,327 and an average of 40.5 months old.
"It is interesting to contrast the North East, for example, where the value and dependability of a decade old Land Rover Freelander takes precedent with the three year old BMW X1 that leads the table in the South West, which is a much more style conscious purchase.
"Similarly, buyers in Wales clearly like the Hyundai iX35, which is towards the hardier end of the soft roader spectrum, while the sheer practicality of a Citroen C4 Picasso rules in the Midlands."
Rupert added that the speed of sale and price paid across the country was also a fascinating indicator of priorities for different buyers.
"The 14.3 days to sale for a SEAT Ibiza shows that there is exceptionally strong demand for that car in Northern Ireland, for example, showing an eye for value."
