BLACKCURRENT KEEPS BOILERS RUNNING IN A POWER CUT!

This new box of tricks designed by a Lancaster firm, UKPowertech Ltd., will store power from the mains and when a drop is detected it will, in a matter of milliseconds, take over ensuring customers can maintain a comfortably warm environment for a minimum of 2 hours.

There are 3 sizes available but for an average 3 bedroom house the smaller unit, BC300 would not only run the central heating but could provide sufficient power to run a small amount of lighting as well. The unit, which is maintenance free, needs to be hard wired into the mains. but is small enough to fit under the stairs or in a cupboard.
