CRIEFF BUSINESSES COLLABORATE FOR TOURISM EXCELLENCE

Two of Crieff's leading tourism businesses are throwing open their doors to each other this month, in a bid to ensure closer collaboration between neighbouring businesses leads to an even better experience for visitors to the area.

The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery in Crieff and the nearby Crieff Hydro and Murraypark hotels, each multi-award winning tourist destinations in their own right, have got together in a unique collaboration which will see the Distillery throw open its doors to welcome hundreds of Crieff Hydro and Murraypark Hotel employees to brush up on their whisky knowledge and on what the distillery has to offer for visitors.

The move will be followed by an upgrade in signposting to and from the distillery and Crieff Hydro, both of which can be easily reached on foot via a long established walking trail that leads directly from the hotel down to Turret Burn and over the bridge to the visitor attraction.

Stuart Cassells, General Manager at The Famous Grouse Experience commented:

"Crieff welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists every year and many of them stay at Crieff Hydro or visit The Famous Grouse Experience when they are in town. Despite being neighbours we have rarely had the opportunity to really get to know each other well and we felt there was an opportunity to work together more collaboratively. Local initiatives like the Crieff Succeeds BID project have helped us identify that there are many opportunities for co-operation as well as to significantly improve the visitor experience to the region. We're delighted to be extending that hand of friendship to the Crieff Hydro team."

Sharon McIntosh, General Manager of Crieff Hydro commented:

"Crieff Hydro prides itself on being at the heart of the community and with so many interesting things to see and do in Perthshire we want to actively promote these to our guests. This latest opportunity to work with The Famous Grouse Experience is fantastic as it allows our team to really immerse themselves in the facilities on offer and enhance the service we offer at the hotel."

The Famous Grouse Experience is Scotland's most visited distillery and was recently listed as the number one sight to see in Crieff on TripAdvisor, the website that features advice from millions of travelers. Similarly the Murraypark Hotel and Crieff Hydro claim to the top two spots for places to stay in Crieff. The Famous Grouse Experience is also celebrating its top spot on TripAdvisor this month by saying thank you to all visitors, by way of offering them a 50% discount on distillery tours throughout February.
