For training provider, hospitality industry scholarships take her back to her roots
For the tenth year in a row, leading training and coaching company Tickety Boo Training is to provide management training to tomorrow's leaders in Scottish hospitality.
As part of its ongoing collaboration with the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland (HITS), Tickety Boo will this year work with eight membersof the hospitality industry who are recipients of scholarships given out annually through HITS. Each will receive Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 4 management training.
HITS is a charity that helps new and existing hospitality workers achieve their full potential in the industry. Tickety Boo, based in Dunblane, has been serving up its own unique training and coaching recipe since 1998, and specialising in the hospitality, tourism, service and retail sectors.
For Tickety Boo director Annie Lindsay, working with the HITS scholars is a return to her roots. Annie was formerly training manager at the five-star Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire, a position subsequently held by David Cochrane, now chief executive of HITS.
Annie commented:
"Having been in charge of training the staff at Gleneagles, and having continued to coach and train many clients in the hotel, restaurant and catering trade since then, hospitality is close to my heart. I'm thrilled to continue helping the trade through the extremely valuable scholarships offered through HITS."
The scholars, announced recently at HITS' Emerging Talent Conference in Glasgow, included supervisors and junior managers from a cross section of the hospitality industry.
The HIT Scotland Emerging Talent Conference 2016 took place on February 4th at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. The sellout event included keynote speakers Mark Flanagan, Royal Chef and Assistant Master of Catering at Buckingham Palace, and Charlie Flynn, professional boxer and Commonwealth gold medalist.
Altogether this year HITS will provide 164 scholarships for hospitality industry workers, from housekeepers up to senior management.
