Veeno, The Italian Wine Cafe set to open 3 new venues.
After successfully opening five Italian wine cafes in the last two years the most recent being Nottingham, the directors of Veeno, Andrea Zecchino & Nino Caruso have announced that they will be opening a further three venues in the coming months.
They will be rolling out the Italian Aperitivo culture (A tradition deeply routed in the Italian culture, gathering with friends and family to enjoy drinks and food, unwinding in a relaxed and informal setting) to Bristol, Edinburgh & Harrogate. These latest acquisitions will be the catalyst for further growth with plans to open up to 10 venues within the next 12 months.
Speaking with Andrea (Finance Director) about his choice of locations he said "We want to be in the most important cities of the UK. We think Bristol especially the Temple Quay area is a new area of the city with exciting plans for the next few years. Edinburgh is a big market with a lot of competition and we need to be there to bring the Veeno brand to a national level. Harrogate is smaller, but it's the perfect niche market to promote a high quality food & drink offer".
The latest acquisitions are funded by individual investors and a number of business angels, further talks are currently in progress also in order to raise further capital to roll out more venues in the coming years making their ambitions of having 70/80 sites by 2020 a reality.
All of the wines on offer at Veeno are imported directly from co-founder Nino Caruso's family vineyards in Sicily, Italy. Not only does this allow them to ensure the quality is second to none but keeps logistics costs down allowing the customer to receive great quality wines and incredibly affordable prices.
Nino Caruso said "We are excited to be expanding the Veeno brand out into new regions and creating up to 10 new jobs in each of those areas. Our team members are a key asset to us and help us deliver the authentic Aperitivo culture!"
When asked about their achievements over the last two years he said "We've come a long way since meeting following a game of football over two years ago now, we've learnt a lot and its really paying off"

Press notes
In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties randomly met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo; the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. A daily occasion to share moments of happiness with friends and family.
By the end of that very same year, Veeno opened its first store in Manchester. A place where both beginners and experts could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini‐mainly platters of meats and cheeses strictly imported from Italian producers.
Veeno's wines come from the family vineyard back in Sicily where Nino's great‐grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the 19th century. Since then, they have been working hard to ensure that the quality and tradition flows from the bottle to the glass.
Veeno now have stores in Manchester, Leeds, York, Liverpool & Nottingham.
