Bradford Garden Centre is highly commended in national industry awards
Directors and staff at Tong Garden Centre are celebrating after its initiative to raise funds for Martin House Children's Hospice was highly commended in a prestigious national competition.
Tong's ‘Play to help the hospice' campaign raised over £5,000 during the summer holidays and was recognised by judges of the Garden Retail and Garden Industry Awards' ‘Community Involvement Award' category at a gala dinner recently.
Tong Garden Centre co-owner, Mark Farnsworth is delighted to be awarded highly commended: "It was really rewarding to see children's play at Grasshoppers Adventure Playground benefitting the hospice. To win the Highly Commended prize is great news and a real credit to our hard working team."
Hosted by leading industry title, Horticulture Week, The Garden Retail & Garden Industry Awards recognise and celebrate the best businesses in the garden retail industry. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony on 4thFebruary at London's Grand Connaught Rooms.
Tong Garden Centre occupies a 17 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 1,000 cars.
