TREMCO'S single-source solution ensures quality, performance and peace of mind

When it comes to structural waterproofing, TREMCO is leading the way with a single-source package for car parks that combines state-of-the-art membrane technology with a comprehensive range of high quality movement joints.

In the event that a client elects to use a waterproofing system from one manufacturer and a movement joint from another, the chance of a system failure can be higher. The situation is complicated further as each component will have its own warranty. In the event of a system failure, it may be impossible to pinpoint which product is at fault, leaving the client with no recourse under any of the separate warranties provided.

Specifying a single-source car park deck waterproofing solution from TREMCO ensures system compatibility, as well as peace of mind thanks to the back-to-back system warranty. There is no confusion regarding where accountability might lie in the event of a problem occurring.

Movement joints are often regarded as an afterthought in a project, but these critical interface areas can be the weakest point of a building structure. Thought should be given to the placement of these joints at the start of a project so that they can be easily integrated with the waterproofing system. They should therefore be given due consideration both in terms of detailing and of materials specified.

The decision regarding which deck waterproofing system to use can depend on a number of factors including; substrate, time allocated to complete the project and the time of year that the project will be completed in.

TREMCO has four systems available to suit the specific requirements of different car-park areas. All of the systems help a building structure remain functional for longer by preventing water ingress. The range of colours available, and the easy-clean nature of the coatings mean that the aesthetics of the structure can be maintained or enhanced to improve the customer experience.

For exposed areas and areas above retail property, TREMCO offers two systems: one using rapid-curing Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) resins and the other entailing a conventional-curing, highly elastomeric Polyurethane membrane.

For ramp areas, TREMCO recommends an MMA-based system with the addition of hard aggregate which enhances traction and resistance to wear. The fourth system, for internal areas, also employs an MMA-based resin.

With a network of approved and fully-trained specialist contractors that are familiar with the TREMCO product range, TREMCO can ensure that customers get high quality, durable installations every time.
