 PPS Chartered Accountants strengthens personal tax practice with merger

PPS Chartered Accountants has merged with the personal tax practice, Susan Papworth-Smith Chartered Tax Advisor.

The merger sees Susan join PPS Chartered Accountants, where she will strengthen the firm’s in-house personal tax practice. As well as her wealth of experience in the field, Susan brings some 40 new clients to PPS Chartered Accountants.

As a Chartered Tax Advisor, Susan has been in the accountancy profession for 30 years. Welcoming her to PPS Chartered Accountants, Sally Holland, a partner at the firm, said: “This is an excellent development for our firm. Susan has experience, deep knowledge and a loyal customer base. Bringing all this into PPS Chartered Accountants consolidates our standing in the area of personal tax while giving Susan’s clients continuity of service. It also furthers the impressive growth we’ve achieved throughout 2016.”

Susan Papworth-Smith is the latest of five new staff members to join PPS Chartered Accountants in recent months, following the recruitment of:

Thisara Ranthilake Gedara, an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Affiliate qualified to ACCA P4 (advanced finance management) and P7 (advanced audit). Thisara was previously site manager at Credentia Forecourts Limited. He joined PPS Chartered Accounts as an accountant.

Daniele Martini Shayler. Dani is also an ACCA Affiliate as well as having a BTEC Advance Payroll Technician. Her previous roles include European Finance Assistant Analyst at Travelport and payroll supervisor at Lancaster London Hotel. Dani also joined PPS Chartered Accounts as an accountant.

Emma Dreano. Emma headed up housekeeping at Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa in the heart of Wiltshire. This diverse role saw her oversee the daily operations of the hotel and manage its accounts. Emma, now studying for her ATT qualification (Association of Taxation Technicians) joined PPS Chartered Accountants as a bookkeeper.

Lucy Peare. Lucy originally joined PPS Chartered Accountancy for work experience in 2014. Having shown great aptitude for accountancy and commitment to the role, she was taken on by the firm and recently obtained her AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians). Lucy is now progressing into her Chartered student role to obtain her ACA qualification (Association of Chartered Accountants).

The total number of staff at PPS Chartered Accountants is now 12.
