With the nights drawing in and the temperature dropping, now is the time for retailers to capitalise on sales of off-season products.
With the increasing popularity of wood fires and wood burning stoves, plus rising heating bills, many people have embraced the heart-warming log fire.

To exploit this trend, Fiskars offers retailers its range of Next Generation axes. Fiskars first started manufacturing axes 363 years ago - in fact it was the first product made by the iron monger back when the Swedish army needed weapons for the 30-year war. The town of Fiskars was in a valley where energy could be drawn from water as it ran down the hills to the river. The hills around were full of iron and perfect for crafting axe heads.

Technology has moved on and Fiskars has invested its knowledge in fine-tuning every detail of its Next Generation axes. The axe head is integrated into the blade design to ensure it remains stable under use. The ultra light and durable Fibercomp™ handle minimises fatigue and makes the axe virtually unbreakable. The perfect balance between head and shaft guarantee a safe and efficient swing. The anti-shock, hooked end of the handle offers a firm and comfortable grip. The subtle yet ingenious improvement of the blade geometry contributes to the refined user experience, as the rounder edges ensure easier removal from the log when splitting wood. All these are meticulously designed features demonstrating a true evolution of craftsmanship.

The range

Fiskars axe range consists of:

  • Camping Axe X5: a small axe that can be easily carried, ideal for hikers and campers.

  • Carpenters Axe X10: specifically designed for carpenters and construction workers.

  • Splitting Axe X17 and X25: for splitting large logs.

New for Fiskars 2013 range is the Chopping Axe X7 and the Splitting Axe X27 for heavier splitting tasks.

The secure lock is easy to open and close and the sheath also serves as a handy carrying grip. The elegant finish of the new sheath design is in perfect harmony with the axe's superior quality and performance.

Fiskars Next Generation Axeswere awarded a 2010 Red Dot Design Award in one of the largest and most renowned design competitions worldwide. It is only conferred to particularly creative, innovative and high-quality products.
