Sales accelerate for engine treatments firm
Tec4
A new ‘trade only’ additives company
has taken the aftermarket by storm with extraordinary sales growth of its
technically advanced range of petrol and diesel engine contamination beating
treatments.
From a standing start launch in
February this year, Tec4 Lubricants Ltd has gained over 700 nationwide
independent motor garage customers who are buying in excess of 10,000 bottled
treatments a month. The firm brought out an initial range of eight proven products
to combat contamination in vehicle fuel and oil systems and distributes via a
sales force of 18 full time aftermarket trained sales people across the UK.
Far from being the new kid on the
block, Tec4 is backed by experienced aftermarket professionals with decades of
experience in the engine treatments sector. The company is the brainchild of Bob Welch, former Managing Director
of Fortè Lubricants, who has been a key figure in the aftermarket for the past
20 years.
Commenting on the firm’s highly accelerated
start up, Bob Welch said that his management team were looking to take on more
sales people and achieve around 1,000 independent garage customers by the end
of the year. He also plans to increase the company’s range of treatments with a
new ‘essential workshop’ kit of problem solving products in the next few
months.
He said: “Already we have
exceeded our business growth expectations with anticipated first year turnover
of £600,000, and have been overwhelmed by the positive response to the South African
manufactured Tec4 treatment range. We chose to manufacture our range in South
Africa as this is well known as the pioneering home of advanced chemical engine
treatments and we were able to utilise the experience that already existed
there. This enabled us to formulate exceptional quality treatments that
combat the old and new contamination issues being experienced by UK garage
technicians.
”Without doubt our success is down
to the quality of what is in the bottle, we know it works and we are able to
demonstrate its abilities under regulated conditions,” he added.
Tec4’s
Sales Director, Duncan Partington, commented: “our specially
formulated and proven treatments are clearly named, labelled and colour coded
to make it easy for technicians and garage owners to know what treatment to use
for each problem. A key example is our combined DPF and Turbo System cleaner.
In the marketplace there are two different solutions, but the formulation is
identical for each, so we have combined DPF and Turbo so that garages need only
order one bottle instead of two. We know how to treat customers well and they
can order as little or as much product as they need. “
The Tec4 system cleaner range has been specially
developed for oil, petrol, diesel, DPF and turbo system issues and is available
under the ‘technically advanced’ label for professional technicians.
The treatments offer a unique blend of chemicals, including non corrosive
cleaning agents, that are proven to treat and remove contamination and improve
the operating performance of any vehicle.
