New lift adaptor for smaller vehicles

A new adaptor system for lifting light commercial vehicles has been launched by West Midlands-based SOMERSTOTALKARE.

The system is designed to be operated with two of the firms existing S6cf and S6ng column lifts, which are more often used to lift heavier vehicles such as buses, coaches and lorries.

James Radford, SOMERSTOTALKARE Sales and Marketing Director, said the new Light Vehicle Adaptor (LVA), with a safe working load of 4,000kg, had been developed in response to feedback from customers.

"A lot of the workshops we work with are responsible for servicing and repairing mixed fleets and this solution enables engineers to get underneath smaller vehicles, including vans, without the need to invest in separate lifts."

The system comes complete with its own trolley to assist with set up and storage. Its platforms can also be directly attached to the lift columns from the trolley, making set up even easier.

The LVA was launched at the recent Coach and Bus Live event at the NEC where it attracted a lot of interest from transport operators and James is confident it will prove even more popular in the commercial vehicle sector.

"Moving forward we will continually look at new lifting solutions for customers, regardless of the sector they operate in, as they continue to diversify," James added.

The launch of the new product marked another milestone for the company, which is based in Halesowen and is currently celebrating 30 years as a market leader in the heavy-duty vehicle lift industry.
