PRESS RELEASE
Dorset Dentist Winning Smiles wins top national award for Best Patient Care in Private Dentistry Awards 2013
Beating off competition from private dental practices across the UK, Gillingham based dental practice Winning Smiles was awarded the top national award for Best Patient Care in the Private Dentistry Awards. Shirley Bryant, receptionist from Winning Smiles stepped up to receive the award from sponsor Simon Gambold Managing Director from Henry Schein UK at a glittering ceremony held at the London Hilton in Park Lane on Friday, 1 November.
Owner Murray Hawkins said, "As a small private dental practice based in Dorset, we are absolutely delighted to receive this top award which was fiercely contested with 12 other finalists from top private dental practices based in locations like Harley Street and Berkeley Square."
In its application, Winning Smiles demonstrated how it provides the best patient care in a whole variety of ways. For example with nervous patients the practice uses a number of strategies and treatments to counter their fears, including drill free fillings and a special device developed by Winning Smiles called Vibraject which ensures pain free local anaesthesia. Patients are also offered 10 flavours of topical local anaesthetic including amaretto, cointreau and gin & tonic! There are also a wide range of over 100 videos which can be played on the ceiling- mounted screen to distract patients and aromatherapy candles help to relax nervous patients.
During the year, Winning Smiles has picked up six different awards including the Blackmore Vale Award for Outstanding Customer Service and two business awards from the highly competitive Best of Business Awards organisation joining the ranks of other winning businesses like Unilever, the Air Ambulance Service, Brunel University and the Metropolitan Police.
Winning Best Customer Focus (health and beauty) category in the Best of Business Awards prompted Andrew Areoff, the Chairman of the Judges, to comment: "Anyone with a fear of going to the dentist should visit Winning Smiles. The friendly dentists have done just about everything possible to make it a pain-free experience. There are soft comfy chairs, TVs on the ceiling, no needles and no drills. Instead there are flavoured topical anaesthetics and air abrasion drilling. The company likes to stay ahead of the competition and it specialises in offering new cosmetic treatments that are not available elsewhere in the UK. With a range of flexible payments options thrown in, customers can't help but smile."
