Shropshire jeweller's Christmas gift to hospice
An artisan jeweller from Shrewsbury is set to bring a bit of festive cheer to terminally ill people across Shropshire after deciding to donate a percentage of the proceeds from her new Christmas range to a local hospice.
Anne Reeves Jewellery specialises in contemporary solid silver jewellery and giftware and has created a new limited edition angel design to help raise much needed funds for Severn Hospice.
"I've been a supporter of the hospice movement and the wonderful work it does helping people cope with terminal illness and supporting their families, friends and carers for a number of years now, especially since Severn Hospice helped a friend of mine who died of cancer aged just 43," says Anne.
"Encouraged by the success of a similar initiative, when I raised several hundred pounds in my friend's memory from the sale of a guitar pendant, I came up with the idea of creating something special to celebrate Christmas that would also enable me to give something back to the local community."
Measuring 25mm in length, Anne Reeves Jewellery's new handcrafted solid silver angel is available as a pendant on a chain and as a charm. Anyone buying the charm can choose to have it hanging from a clasp, so that it can be added to a bracelet or necklace, or attached to ribbon, so that they can use it as a Christmas tree decoration.
The new Christmas angel range is available from Anne Reeves Jewellery's online shop atwww.annereevesjewellery.co.uk. Prices start from £26, including a gift box and free delivery, plus an optional complimentary gift wrapping service. For each of the 150 limited edition angel pendants or charms sold Anne will donate £10 to Severn Hospice in the buyer's name.
Each year Severn Hospice cares for 2,800 people throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales. An independent charity, its aim is to give those living with life-limiting illnesses dignity, respect and the best possible care by helping its patients and their families make the most of every day.Severn Hospice has to raise around two thirds of the money needed to run its services, which this year equates to £5.75 million.
"We are always happy to talk to people about the different ways they can support us and are very grateful to businesses like Anne Reeves Jewellery who are willing to give us a donation from the sale of their products," says Daniel Myatt, fundraising officer at Severn Hospice.
"By raising money for Severn Hospice, Anne is not only helping us care for people affected by progressive and terminal illness, but is also directly helping her friends and neighbours by ensuring resources are there should they ever need them."
