Top cleaning tips from SEBO

Whether you choose to do a little cleaning every day or save it up for a major cleaning day, make sure you follow some top tips from SEBO for making your home spick and span.
- Vacuuming is an essential part of cleaning so take care of your machine to make it last longer. Check filters and bags regularly – at least once every six weeks – and keep the brush roller-free from hair.
- When cleaning stairs, always leave the vacuum at a lower point than you are cleaning and start from the top and work down. When cleaning rooms go from top to bottom.
- Always ensure the power cable is fully extended before turning the vacuum on and never pull a vacuum by the cable.
- Vacuuming slowly is twice as effective as whizzing round.
- Make sure you use the right attachment for the job especially on delicate flooring such as wool loop carpet.
Some other general top tips for making your home sparklingly clean include: -
- Use an ordinary pencil eraser to remove fingerprints and marks from light switches.
- Put toothpaste on an old toothbrush and apply a liberal coat to tarnished silver. Rinse, then buff dry with a soft cloth and your silver will be sparkling.
- Freshen a smelly fridge by halving a lemon and scooping out the flesh. Fill the empty lemon shell with salt, put the shell in the back corner of the fridge for an effective natural deodoriser.
- A dab of baby oil buffed over a chrome surface with a soft cloth will give a mirror-like shine.
- A drop of vinegar on a scrunched-up pad of old newspaper is great for getting windows clean.
