Nightmare Before Christmas – 1800 Angels to the Rescue?
London, UK, 5 December 2013. Writer and cartoonist Brian Davis (63) is facing the challenge of his life. Within seven days he faces eviction from a small flat in North London because of rent arrears: a true nightmare before Christmas.

But he has a most original way to help stave off disaster. He reckons if he can sell just 400 copies in the next seven days of his cartoon book Angel Delights www.myangeladay.com, he can avoid being thrown on the street. (NB: It’s important to buy direct from the author’s website for this calculation to work.)

Brian has for years been keeping his own spirits up - and those of countless people - with the help of a cartoon angel. Every day he draws a cartoon angel of inspiration in a cafe and posts it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. Some 1800 angel cartoons to date. See: myangeladay or @myangeladay. Within seconds he gets positive response from kids in ghettoes in America, mums in Melbourne, young guys and girls in Syria, Jerusalem, Cardiff, Peru, Kyoto, Ukraine, South Africa and many other places.

He has also produced a book of inspiring angel cartoons called Angel Delights which helps himself and others stay positive and move forward in these challenging times.

Brian says, “It's a funny, motivational pick-me-up which anybody can ‘get’ whether a young kid, teen, working mum, hassled commuter, go-for-it entrepreneur or silver surfer”.

It’s also his hope of salvation from eviction if enough people buy it for the people they love for Christmas. Already 60 books have sold in the last day or so from his own contacts.

Each copy of Angel Delights he sells is dedicated with a personal angel cartoon. Brian's angel books make a fabulous gift for people of all ages and can make a real difference. He plans to share proceeds with charities once he is over this hump, as so many people face enormous challenges at this time here and round the world.

Brian says, “Someone described Angel Delights and Myangeladay as a cartoon version of the Law of Attraction. Another sees it as the new 'Love Is'. But most simply see getting an angel a day on their smartphone as an inspiring little lift which also raises a smile.

“Copies have been given to support people with life threatening illnesses, like cancer. Teenage girls and their mums love it. Young and old find it very motivating. There are also many people who are passionate about everything involving angels, and an enormous number get comfort in facing life's challenges. “

Brian 'The Angel Man' is also a freelance writer and teaches Cartooning for Kids in two North London schools. He is divorced and has a 9 year old son and two grown up kids.

Brian has drawn about 1800 angels – an angel a day – starting one afternoon with the question: "How many positive phrases do I have in my head?"  About 1800 angel cartoons later he is still positive that if you SMILE ... miracles will happen.

Let’s put a smile back on his face before Xmas.
