Cotton Court Charity Christmas Party In Aid Of Derian House
Cotton Court Charity Christmas Party In Aid Of Derian House

On Friday 6th December Cotton Court Business Centre hosted a Christmas party at Glovers Bar in Preston in aid of local children’s hospice Derian House  The Cotton Court team laid on food and drinks simply asking guests to bring along a present to donate to the children at the hospice this Christmas.

Robert Binns from Cotton Court, said;

'Preston's business scene is thriving at the moment, or at least that's our experience with the businesses based in and using our facilities here, we really wanted to celebrate with everyone and it just seemed right that a good deed was done at the same time.'

The event was a huge success; with around 100 attendees from businesses across Lancashire, socialising, dancing and enjoying the festivities long into the night. Lots of presents were donated and the Cotton Court team delivered them to the hospice this week.

Roya Armstrong from Derian House said;

'We are truly overwhelmed by all the gifts we received from Cotton Court and are extremely grateful to all those who donated. It's people like these who keep the hospice going as we rely heavily on public donations here at Derian House. The presents have been distributed amongst the children already and have gone down an absolute storm!'

Editors notes;

Derian House is a children’s hospice in Lancashire delivering care to families with children with life limiting illnesses and offering bereavement to families who have lost a child to illness. Without any major bouts of funding the charity has to be almost self sufficient, relying on volunteers and fund-raising efforts from the community. To offer the level of support it currently does, it would need to raise in excess of £2.9million pound a year, equating to £60,416 per week and £369.58 per hour. In the time it’s taken you to read this, to meet target the charity will have have to raised £1.

Cotton Court Business Centre is located just off Church Street in Preston’s city centre. It is a former Iron and Wire Mill dating back to 1851, now converted for a variety of business uses including; training and meeting rooms, event and conference facilities, rental space and virtual office services.
