4id Interiors predicts big year for British fabrics
British fabrics are back in vogue according to decor shop 4id Interiors
Interior design shop 4id Interiors has thrown their weight in with British fabric creators, saying that they believe 2014 will be a big year for British designers.
4id Interiors is an online shop specialising in interiors, including wallpapers, fabrics, string curtains and children's decor, and they're predicting that the year of 2014 will be a strong one for fabric designers in Britain.
The company believes that the British fabric industry has seen something of a resurgence in recent years and points to a growing demand on their shop for British made products as proof that the appetite for British-designed fabrics for interiors is booming.
Debbie Fisher, Managing Director of 4id Interiors, one of the UK's largest online fabrics and wallpaper specialists, said that sales of British-made fabrics are up and that the team at 4id are expecting the trend to continue throughout the year - and possibly further.
"In the last couple of years we've seen a steady increase in the number of people choosing British fabrics from our website and towards the end of 2013 that really started to snowball as we added more and more British made interior design fabrics to our shop.
"We currently have a large amount of creative, stylish British fabric on our website that looks fantastic no matter how you use them.
"Britain has a long history of making fabrics and the British fabrics that we sell are of the highest quality, boasting durability as well great, contemporary designs."
Continuing, Debbie explained that a move towards creating your own decor is perhaps responsible for the rise in sales of fabrics.
"It's certainly been helped in recent years by the fact that there's been somewhat of a cultural shift, especially amongst young people, towards being more ‘thrifty'. That's to say there are a lot of people out there who, rather than buying readymade curtains or buying a new sofa, will simply buy quality designer fabrics and give their room a make-over.
"It also helps that with British fabrics you can create room decor that is truly unique - something that you know nobody else in the country will have. Of course, the fact that buying fabrics and creating a bespoke interior design is usually a less costly option also comes into it!"
4id Interiors currently stocks hundreds of designer fabrics on their website, including a large range of children's fabric options.
