Print order volumes at their highest since 2010 - Overnight Prints responds

Overnight Prints, a leading UK and international print company, has responded to a survey showing increased volume and output for print orders

A survey by Printing Outlook has found that in Q3 of 2013 the volume and output of print orders were at the highest that they have been for four years - with sales figures not seen since 2010.

A quarterly report by the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) queried a total of 110 businesses in the UK, and the findings show that orders are up. 31 percent reported an improvement compared to 15 percent who have seen a decline in interest. Better still for those in the printing industry, the BPIF report shows that stable profile margins were at their highest in 20 years, with three quarters of respondents reporting that they had stable profit margins.

Kathy Woodward, BPIF chief executive, said:

"It's great news that productive output and confidence is returning to the printing industry. Not just for the companies operating within the industry but the wider economy, from which our varied clients come."

The BPIF report was backed by a Printing Outlook survey which also found confidence in the printing sector is high. According to the Printing Outlook survey, 54 percent in the industry expect further recovery in the fourth quarter.

Overnight Prints, an international printing company with a strong presence in Britain, regularly reacts to breaking industry news and reports. A spokesman for the company said:

"The printing industry is in great shape at the moment and the report and survey proves it. We've seen a lot of added interest on our side and it's great to hear that it's a trend being seen throughout the industry. Some of the sales figures and trends haven't been seen for decades, never mind years!"

Overnight Prints believes that an improving economy with more businesses in the UK could be helping the print industry, particularly those who offer business card printing services.

"The economy is going well at the moment and businesses seem more willing to spend on business cards. Everybody knows that business cards are an effective form of marketing but people are now looking for unique, professionally finished cards so that they stand out from the crowd."

Despite the rise in print sales and print volumes, Overnight Prints says that they haven't had to compromise on price to sell more printed business cards.

"Our professional business cards blow other options out of the water. We haven't had to offer practically free business card printing to achieve great sales. Clients are willing to pay that little bit extra for rounded corners, partial high gloss and card cases."
