Removals companies
capitalise on house building surge
A boom in
housebuilding has been welcomed by removals companies across the country
London Removal Team has this week said that an ongoing surge in house creation in Britain is having a positive effect on the removals industry.
British construction is currently at its highest since the first quarter of 2008, adding to claims that builders are behind recent rises in property prices.
Accounting for 6.3% of the gross domestic product, the construction sector is one of many to have benefitted from a pick-up in the country’s housing market.
The Markit Purchasing Managers’ Index rose from 62.1 to 64.6 for January, an improvement not seen since 2007. Any number above 50 is considered an indication of growth in activity. Economist at BNP Paribas, David Tinsley, said:
“Overall, the construction PMI tends to suggest the contraction we saw in the official Q4 construction data is an erratic. That said, the construction PMI and the official statistics have often only had a weak relationship in the past, and the very wet January weather may still impact the hard data for the first quarter. Still, it would be a surprise if the sector did not make a solid contribution to GDP growth over 2014.”
The London Removal Team, a prominent removals company in London, often comments on relevant industry news, and they believe that the current rise in the number of houses being built is benefiting companies in the removals sector. A representative for the company said:
“The increase in the number of houses being built across the country has really helped to add a new lease of life to the moving industry. We’re seeing a lot more people buying and moving houses which has resulted in a large demand for removals and storage services.”
With house creation set to continue rising until 2017, the London Removal Team predict that the removals sector will bounce back in a big way in the coming years.
“The health of the removals industry is often closely linked to the housing and construction industry and with housebuilding forecast to remain strong for the next several years we’re expecting that the removals industry will also go from strength to strength.
The London-based removal experts say that they’ve already benefitted from more houses being built and more people moving houses.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in the last 6 months and it seems to be growing every day. 2014 is looking like it could well be one of the biggest years for us in a long time.
