Ziener, Dakine and Black Diamond partner with Gore for their outdoor
apparel ranges
W.L. Gore & Associates GmbH (Gore)
announces three new additions to its customer portfolio:Ziener, Dakine and Black Diamond. These three prestigious
outdoor apparel manufacturers will further diversify the GORE-TEX® and
WINDSTOPPER® offerings in the ski and outdoor markets.
Sportswear specialist: Ziener
As one of Europe’s foremost
manufacturers of sports apparel and gloves, Ziener has been using GORE-TEX® and
WINDSTOPPER® membranes in its gloves for over 25 years. During this time it has
become one of Gore’s principal European partners in this segment. Commencing
winter 2014/2015 Ziener will also be relying on the performance and durability
of GORE-TEX® products in its successful ski apparel ranges. In its two-piece
outfits for men and women (consisting of
ski pants and a ski jacket) it is using a high quality, Bluesign® certified,
GORE-TEX® 2-layer laminate that provides skiers with reliable protection from
wind and weather while offering ultimate wearer comfort.
Climbing gear specialist: BLACK DIAMOND
Based in Utah, USA, this prominent
outdoor specialist is also featuring products with GORE-TEX® and WINDSTOPPER®
technologies as the cornerstone of its coming 2014 autumn/winter apparel lines.
Black Diamond is particularly well known throughout Europe and Asia for
climbing, skiing, alpine and sports gear. For the launch Black Diamond is
equipping all jackets incorporating 3-layer GORE-TEX® Pro with a new embedded,
concealed technology. Known as Cohæsive, this technology is a patent pending
cord management system which allows 3D hardware components to be directly
embedded and bonded into the garment’s fabric. Alongside these 3-layer GORE-TEX®
Pro products Black Diamond is also using some GORE-TEX® Active products in its
minimalist Sharp End series.
Snowboard and accessories specialist:
DAKINE
Founded in 1979 in Hawaii, Dakine
already has several years experience in the glove sector as a Gore licensed
partner. The snowboard outerwear specialist has now ventured into new territory
to produce functional outerwear featuring GORE-TEX® laminates. In both its
men’s and women’s styles for autumn/winter 2014/15 Dakine is using 2 and
3-layer GORE-TEX® products. These jackets and pants are ideal for snowboarding
and skiing in deep powder.
“The fact that Ziener, Black Diamond and
Dakine have all placed their trust in our brand provides fresh evidence of the
high quality of our products and our responsible approach to the environment,” comments Lewis Grundy, business leader
mountain sports, clearly delighted with the new partnerships.
