AMG and PETRONAS intensify their partnership
The evolution of the close technical partnership between PETRONAS and the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team on the track fields as well as the close business co-operation with Mercedes-AMG on the first fill business have recently reached a new and important collaboration: the supply of PETRONAS SYNTIUM 7000 engine oil to the 4-cylinder series production engines of the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG and the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG.
According to the new agreement, all the AMG M133 engines produced in Kölleda, Germany are lubricated by PETRONAS Syntium engine oil, being the 2.0L turbo engine engineered to perform with PETRONAS Syntium 7000 – the same lubricant developed to fulfill even the most demanding conditions, like Formula One.
Motorsports is a field built around technology and the real significance of the technical partnership with Mercedes-AMG is in the technological expertise of PETRONAS Lubricants International’s Research and Development Department and the added value PLI products can bring to any race.
Being developed in the most extreme conditions, PETRONAS SYNTIUM 7000 achieves very high levels of quality and reliability, key factors to fill the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine in series production.
The long-term partnership between PETRONAS and Mercedes-AMG represents an important step forward to further enhance the image of PETRONAS Lubricants as a premium and reliable partner not only in motorsports but in automotive world at large.
With this new milestone, Eric Holthusen, PLI Chief Operating Officer, quoted: “The high performance engine of each A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG leaving the factory is filled with PETRONAS Syntium, a fact that we in PLI are proud of. Dedicated and focused development work hand-in-hand with our partner Mercedes-AMG has not only lead to this achievement, but also made us a key-supplier to one of the leading brands in the automotive industry.”
