PRESS RELEASE
JOBS LIFELINE FOR SOLWAY WORKERS
Northampton based sandwich manufacturer Greencore is stepping in to offer a range of job opportunities to employees at risk of redundancy at Corby's Solway Foods.
The company, which currently employs around 1,200 colleagues at its production facility on the Moulton Park Industrial Estate in Northampton, is looking for around 200 additional people to help keep up with growing demand.
Greencore is planning to host a special Open Day for Solway workers at the Holiday Inn in Geddington Road, Corby on Monday 31st March and is inviting anyone interested in learning more about the company, its culture and the jobs it has on offer to drop in between 2-8pm.
Managing Director Phil Lovell explains: "Our business is enjoying a period of very strong growth and as a result we are looking for a significant number of people to join the team.
"We know that there are a lot of highly skilled people working at Solway and given our site is only about 20 miles from Corby we would encourage anyone interested in an alternative career within the food industry to come and talk to us about the range of opportunities we have to offer."
Greencore currently employs 12,000 people across 28 sites in the UK, US and Ireland and is the world's largest sandwich manufacturer producing a staggering 9,000,000 sandwiches every single week.
