UK Carline urges drivers to put away their mobile phones!
The crazy trend of taking ‘selfies’ whilst behind the wheel.

UK Carline, one of the most competitive companies in the car leasing industry, has recently posted to their blog urging drivers to stop talking ‘selfies’ whilst driving, describing the act as a “dangerous new trend that is putting drivers and everyone around them at risk.”

With research from Confused.com showing that 7% of drivers have admitted to taking a picture of themselves whilst driving there is no doubt that a lot of people have already been put in danger and that it is time for this fad to come to an end, says UK Carline.

As if this news isn’t shocking enough additional research from the price comparison site also confirms that over a recent 30 day period these careless drivers also generated 287 tweets using the hashtags, #drivingselfies & #drivingselfie.

When talking with one of UK Carlines representatives he said “It is not physically possible to drive and use a mobile phone at the same time, no matter how experienced or confident a driver may be. To me this trend is completely bizarre and I would like to advise anyone whose thinking about joining in to think again.”

Continuing, he went on to explain that “The driving ‘selfies’ are not the only problem, in total a colossal 36% of motorists use their mobile phones when they are driving and that a worrying 57% of those who have previously been caught by the police have continued to do so.”

With car accidents due to distractions within the vehicle on a dangerous and steady rise, UK Carline are trying to band together with the Police to inform and educate the public on the dangers of mobile phone use whilst driving, even when stationary at traffic lights.

In addition to their interesting and informative blog posts, Preston based company UK Carline offer great car leasing deals for both business and personal use. If you would like to see exactly what they have to offer simply visit www.ukcarline.co.uk today or give them a call on 01995 641111.
