The impact on handling solutions initially is space; relocating or creating new space within the existing site. The challenges this presents include utilising existing handling equipment or installing a new solution. The solutions available vary from stationary fixed racking using fork lift trucks to installing a mezzanine floor and using a goods only lift. The end solution is dependent of the goods being lifted and stored, safety and productivity.

Advanced Handling, UK handling solutions manufacturer reported in March 2014 a twenty per cent Year on Year growth and has experienced growth in enquiries and orders of their mezzanine goods lift range. Managing Director, Mike Prince related Advanced Handling’s success to UK manufacturing growth trends; “In the last 18 months demand for this range has increased. We have a number of customers who are leading UK manufacturers and they are adapting their production lines and warehouse operations to create more streamlined processes.”

In response to growth, Advanced Handling launched a new website dedicated to showcasing their design capabilities across their standard and bespoke mezzanine goods lifts. The MezzLite, officially launched at IMHX last year, is one of the company’s leading innovations in design and delivery of a handling solution which offers a standard specification to lift up to 250kg.

Technical Director David Goss explains; “We’ve always had the ability to deliver goods lifts to customer specification, however our design of the MezzLite was to offer a modular system which could be installed with little disruption and was a more ‘off the shelf’ standard solution.”

A Lift to Support Manufacturing Growth/2

The MezzLite is a goods only lift with a maximum capacity of 250kg. The unit is designed with three modular mesh enclosed sections, which allow for each section during installation to be lifted

into position using a fork lift truck. The modular frame also allows for modification to the height of the unit and can easily be relocated on site or to another site. Managing Director Mike Prince commented; “The flexibility of the MezzLite and its demand in the UK inspired us to develop the MezzLite further and create the MezzLite FlatPack which has been designed specifically for export and officially will be launched later this summer.”
