PRESS RELEASE

1 April 2014

Education and Training Foundation relaunches new-look FE Advice Site

The Education and Training Foundation is delighted to announce the relaunch of the FE Advice , the free, confidential advice service for anyone thinking about becoming a teacher in the sector.

The site, which is staffed by experienced education practitioners and teacher trainers, has recently come under the Foundation's umbrella after being transferred from its predecessor organisation, LSIS. It has been redeveloped in line with the Foundation's overall brand, and following a consultation with the sector aimed at reviewing its content, structure and functionality. Visually appealing, clear and easy to navigate, it is being launched today alongside the Foundation's new website, from which it is clearly signposted and accessible.

The FE sector is a particularly attractive option at the moment, as there are a number of generous bursaries available, aimed at attracting and retaining new, high quality graduates to teach English and maths, and to support learners with special educational needs. Funding is also available for subject knowledge enhancement in the fields of maths, while maths entering their second year of employment are eligible for a Golden Hello.

Teaching in FE is a lively and rewarding career choice - with students aged from 14-90, and opportunities to teach academic, vocational and basic skills courses across a diverse range of organisations, from FE Colleges and sixth form colleges to work-based training providers, adult and community learning providers and specialist colleges.

Visit the FE Advice site athttp://www.feadvice.org.uk/, or call0300 303 1877.
