TRANSPORT AWARDS 2014 CELEBRATES SUCCESS WITHIN COURIER AND HAULAGE SECTORS

The Transport Awards, now in its twelfth year, has again showcased the major success and best practise that is taking place within the freight industry at its annual awards ceremony. Organised by Transport Exchange Group, operator of the largest and fastest-growing freight exchanges within the UK and Ireland, the event celebrated the greatest achievements amongst almost 3,000 courier and haulage member businesses over the past year.

The ceremony took place at the prestigious Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, with awards presented across five categories in front of more than 300 industry professionals and business leaders. The winners of four categories were nominated and voted for by the members of Courier Exchange and Haulage Exchange in recognition of their outstanding achievement in terms of customer service, operational performance and delivery success:

New Member of the Year (sponsored by Bibby Financial Services) – Eco-Link Logistics Ltd

Owner Driver of the Year (sponsored by Freightlink) – CB Couriers

European Member of the Year (sponsored by Freightlink) – Simpex Freight Management Ltd

Company of the Year (sponsored by One Insurance Solution) – AMV Couriers

A special award for Network of the Year was also presented for the first time, won by Speedy Freight and sponsored by Navman Wireless, to reward a longstanding member that has experienced significant expansion and success as a result of being an important part of either the Courier Exchange or Haulage Exchange.

Lyall Cresswell, Managing Director of Transport Exchange Group commented: “The Transport Awards are designed to highlight some of the excellent work that is taking place within the courier and haulage sectors by our exchange members. With more than 500,000 loads traded via our freight platform over the past year, this represents a significant community of like-minded organisations that are working together to achieve ongoing success. I would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s awards and thank everyone that has contributed to such an excellent event.”
