Labcell Ltd is launching a new variant of its M400MR Engine Blow-by Monitor with a CAN interface at Automotive Testing Expo Europe

Labcell Ltd will be displaying the new variant of its M400MR engine blow-by monitor with a CAN interface for easier connection to data acquisition and engine control systems at the show. As with the other variants, the new model of blow by monitor is suitable for engine testing, lubricant testing and fleet maintenance applications. Developed and manufactured in the UK specifically for Labcell Ltd, the M400MR blow-by monitor has user-selectable ranges of 4 to 400 LPM (0.15 to 14.4 CFM) to cover the needs of most blow-by measurement requirements. Accuracy is +/-1% of reading and repeatability is +/-0.5% of reading.

The M400MR uses solid-state vortex-shedding technology for a fast response, reliability and insensitivity to variations in temperature, pressure and velocity. Solid-state technology also enables the instrument to be compact, lightweight and easy to install. The versatile M400MR comes with oil separation and damping volumes, offers very low flow restriction, and is suitable for use with both spark-ignition and diesel engines. Connection to the engine is made simply via a 20 mm (0.75 inch) hose from the valve cover.

As well as the CAN interface, the M400MR has a built-in LED display for indicating the operating mode and flow in a choice of engineering units; there are also integral ports for temperature and pressure probes. Users can operate the M400MR so that it outputs the flow rate at a given engine load or speed, or the totaliser mode enables users to measure how long it takes for a given volume of gas to flow over a given engine cycle. Note that the M400MR is equally suitable for use in dynamometer and in-vehicle testing.

All M400MR blow-by monitors are supplied with certificate of calibration and include free delivery to a European address.
