New contract wins worth over £20m have led Projex Building Solutions to expand the team at its Leeds office.

Richard Lister joins as senior surveyor and brings over 12 years' experience whilst James Farnaby joins as building surveyor and formerly worked as part of a capitol projects team at a York-based consultancy.

Both join Projex to assist on a number of new mixed use and retail contract wins including the masterplanning and redevelopment of Solihull town centre, as well as further instructions at Trinity Leeds, where it is advising developer, Land Securities, on a range of asset management projects.

The company is also project managing Rushden Lakes Shopping Park (The Lakes), a major new £50m retail and leisure park in Northamptonshire, which will be one of the biggest out of town schemes to start on site in the UK in 2014.

Projex Building Solutions is currently working on some of the UK's leading retail and mixed use developments.

Its current retail portfolio alone equates to a combined value in excess of £150 million across the UK, equating to nearly two million square feet of retail development.

Projex combines the different disciplines of cost consultancy with all aspects of the construction management process and offers extensive experience at very senior roles in the construction and property industry, with a commercial edge and hands-on approach that clients really value, whatever size the project.

Current key projects include:

  • Pre-letting works to new retail units within Trinity West, part of the new Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre, on behalf of Land Securities, as well as a range of asset management appointments involving their existing retail schemes across the UK.

  • A new £5m care village in Leeds.

  • A three year roll out programme for £23m worth of leisure facilities for the London Borough of Waltham Forest to promote the legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games within the Borough.

  • One of Morrisons first new stores in central London, part of a £29m mixed use scheme in Harrow.

  • The masterplanning and redevelopment of Solihull town centre, Mell Square, which includes 87 retail units, 57 apartments, three office buildings and parking for 252 cars.

  • Trebor Developments major pre-let scheme to deliver 10 acres of commercial space in Coventry for Lex Autolease.

  • A new £22m retail park in Banbury on behalf of retail investment specialist, LXB.

Established in Leeds in April 2009, Projex employs 18 people (including the two new appointments mentioned in this release) across its three offices in Birmingham, Henley-in-Arden and Leeds.
