Q-Park donate €7600 to Children’s Health Foundation

Q-Park donate €7600 to Children's Health Foundation Temple Street

Q-Park are thrilled to announce a significant donation of €7,600 to Children's Health Foundation Temple Street as part of their ongoing partnership.

In 2012 Q-Park partnered with Children's Health Ireland on a mission to provide discounted parking at the Hospital's nearest parking facility, Q-Park The Spire on Marlborough Street. Since then, donations have increased, with this year's donation reaching a new milestone, far exceeding donations made in previous years.

Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street is an acute paediatric hospital which cares for thousands of children per year from across the country. Children's Health Foundation Temple Street raises funds to ensure the best care possible for the Hospital's patients and great support for their families.

As part of Q-Park's partnership with Children's Health Foundation Temple Street, patients' families receive 24 hours parking for just €7 when validating their ticket at the Hospital. As part of the initiative, €1 of each validation is then donated directly to Children's Health Foundation Temple Street by Q-Park. Large donations from partnerships are crucial in helping the Hospital to update its facilities and equipment to provide the best possible care for their resilient and brave young patients.

Having the support of companies like Q-Park, means that Children's Health Foundation Temple Street can fund life-saving equipment, medical research, patient and family support, and new services across the hospital. For instance, a few years ago a new MRI scanner was funded for Children's Health Ireland worth €2.2 million, the purchase of this machine was solely funded by donations from their loyal supporters.

More recently, Children's Health Ireland and the Children's Health Foundation partnered in the successful completion of the first phase of Precision Oncology Ireland (POI) Research programme, marking significant progress in childhood cancer diagnosis and treatment. POI-1 focused on targeted research into leukaemia and neuroblastoma, two of the most complex childhood cancers using cutting-edge scientific and data driven approaches to identify new treatment pathways. The project's impact was recognised by an independent international scientific advisory board, who praised POI-1 as "world-leading" with "far-reaching potential and benefits" for cancer patient outcomes.

These monumental endeavours would not be possible without donors, and Q-Park are humbled to be in partnership with such an inspiring organisation.

Liz Cronin, Corporate Manager at Children's Health Foundation Temple Street, said, "On behalf of all the children, families, and staff at Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff and customers of Q-Park for their ongoing and invaluable support. This generous donation ensures we can continue to provide the very best care to every child who comes through our doors."

Alastair MacDonald, Head of Commercial & Operation at Q-Park Ireland stated "At Q-Park, we place a strong emphasis on our social responsibility and are always eager to support those in greatest need. It's incredibly rewarding to see that the significant contributions from this partnership are helping the dedicated team at Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street enhance the outstanding care they already provide to their courageous young patients."
