AVONLINE'S NEW AVANTI DEAL DELIVERS UK'S FIRST SERVICE LEVEL COMMITMENT FOR SATELLITE BROADBAND DOWNLOAD SPEEDS
Leading UK satellite broadband company Avonline Broadband has introduced the UK's first service for satellite broadband users that comes with a Service Level commitment that is unique to Avonline and specific only to its own customer base.
With a new choice of satellite provider and their innovative "Unique Service Promise", plus the opportunity to rent hardware to reduce start-up costs, spread the installation costs over the first year and a promise to swap the contract when fibre broadband reaches the customer, Avonline believes it has overcome barriers to the much wider use of satellite broadband.
Mark Wynn, managing director of Avonline Broadband, said: "For the first time, those in hard-to-reach areas can get a satellite broadband service that is precisely tailored to their needs - and comes with our Unique Service Promise. We can deliver reliable, affordable and flexible satellite broadband anywhere in the UK, from £19.95 per month with our lowest ever upfront cost of just £50."
The new services are available thanks to a new agreement between Avonline - which is already the UK's largest satellite broadband provider - and UK based satellite operator Avanti, under which customers benefit from an Avonline-specific download service promise. On a rolling 30 day measure, Avonline will deliver an average download speed of at least 9Mbps measured across its total Avanti customer base.
"No-one else in the UK can give such a specific service commitment and so many different payment options," said Mark Wynn. "So if a customer wants speeds up to 20Mbps we can provide it. Or if a customer prefers a lower but more consistent download speed, we can provide that."
Monthly data usage allowances range from 5GB to 150GB, with the choice of unlimited overnight download options included free of charge on all packages above 50GB plus the ability to move up or down in the first three months without any charges.
Avonline has also introduced a new option to rent hardware at £5 per month for those who take a two-year contract and even to spread the cost of Installation over 12 months.
Its Fibre Guarantee promises that, if and when fibre does become available at a customer's home, if Avonline can provide a fibre alternative it will end the satellite contract and connect the customer to the new fibre service.
"These new packages make it easier and more flexible than ever before to get satellite broadband immediately, to use it, and to switch to fibre when circumstances allow," said Mark Wynn.
For the five per cent of the UK that will not be connected by large infrastructure schemes by 2017, satellite broadband provides an instant solution, as a system can be installed to any home or business within a week, and with no need for a phone line. HD TV via Sky or Freesat can be added using the same Avonline satellite dish and the service is also excellent with VoIP.
