An Outstandingly Successful Med-Tech Innovation EXPO 2014
2nd May 2014,The second Med-Tech Innovation EXPO took place at the Ricoh Arena Coventry on 2-3 April. This unique event was a huge success with a dramatic increase in size and attendance over the inaugural event held in 2013.
Med-Tech Innovation EXPO 2014saw a three-fold increase in floor space, to 3000 sqm, and visitor numbers grew by just over 11% on the previous year.
The dedicated medical technology industry show and conference brought together over 100 major supply-chain companies, including, design consultancies and original equipment manufacturers. Alongside the exhibition was the extensive two-day conference devised by Medilink UK and the Association of British Healthcare Industries.
The EXPO also hosted the Medilink UK annual Healthcare Business Awards, which recognise outstanding excellence in a range of fields including Exports, Innovation and NHS Collaboration, among others. The finalists and winners can be viewed online at:www.mtiexpo-uk/WhereWhen/Awards.
Colin Martin, Director of MedTech Communications Ltd, publisher of Med-Tech Innovation magazine and organiser of Med-Ted Innovation EXPO, was delighted with this year's event, he commented,
"In just two years Med-Tech Innovation EXPO has established itself as the premier med-tech event in the UK. This year's EXPO was a great success and we attracted an extremely high quality audience. Our industry has a real need to engage with new and alternative suppliers and partners and develop working networks. This event offered that platform and it is hugely satisfying to see that work in practice. Planning for EXPO 2015 is already underway with a lot of new initiatives in the pipeline."
UK based manufacturing in the med-tech industry is benefiting from reshoring of the capabilities essential to high quality production, and faster turnarounds are being achieved through design and manufacturing being situated in the UK. The £16 billion UK med-tech industry is continuing to grow and driving the UK manufacturing's reputation around the globe.
Med-Tech Innovation EXPO 2015will take place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 22-23 April 2015. The expectation is that 2015 will require a larger floor area and increased visitors will ensure this event remains an essential diary date for this developing market. www.mtiexpo-uk.com
"We considered moving the event for year three," said Martin. "However, when we went back to basics, the underlying reasons for choosing the location had not changed. The Midlands represents the highest concentration of device manufacturing in the UK, and the Ricoh Arena offers ease of access by road, rail and air. Its central location is essential to its success and coupled with the onsite facilities for exhibitors, delegates and visitors, such as free parking, wifi, accommodation, and entertainment it makes the perfect choice for our exhibition and conference."
