VERSATILE GOODLIGHT SNAP FIT PANELS SPECIFIED

FOR WINTERBOTHAM DARBY

An installation of Goodlight Snap Fit retrofit LED panels has not only transformed lighting levels but also proved its versatility within different ceiling systems for Winterbotham Darby.

Established in 1962, Winterbotham Darby is a fast-growing food business that predominantly supplies own-label chilled food to the major supermarket chains in the UK. The company also has a growing foodservice business that includes restaurant chains, sandwich outlets and food producers and is targeting international growth through similar partnerships with retailers around Europe and beyond.

As part of a recent upgrading of offices within the Winterbotham Darby headquarters in Redhill, LED Eco Lights was commissioned to provide reliable retrofit lighting utilising products from its award-winning Goodlight range. A major element of the refurbishment project involved the removal of a wall between two offices to create a single, larger working area. This, in turn, necessitated an upgrading of the existing lighting system to provide consistent illumination throughout the entire office space.
 

 A series of Goodlight 40W Snap Fit retrofit LED panels was specified to replace existing 56W lamps. In contrast to conventional ‘drop in’ versions, the Goodlight panels are securely installed by pushing up into bespoke fixings. This was further complicated by the presence of the different ceiling systems used in the two separate original offices. As a result, the new panels were required to accommodate two different sets of fixings. However, the Goodlight Snap Fit LED panels were ideally suited to both methods and were successfully and swiftly installed with no difficulties.

“The Goodlight retrofit LED panels have really enhanced our newly upgraded offices,” says Ian Render, Winterbotham Darby’s Operations Director. “Our two original offices relied upon lighting of slightly different colours but we now have fantastic consistency throughout our new enlarged office space which has made a huge difference. The whole area now looks brighter to make a truly pleasant working environment – and, due to the lower wattage LED lamps, our energy costs have reduced also.”
