Norbord presents the "Wise Owl" in Use Wood Wisely animation

In the company's latest Use Wood Wisely campaign animation it features the "Wise Owl", the fun film aims to show exactly what is meant by using wood wisely and the hierarchy of wood. As a strong voice in the Biomass debate and a supporter of addressing environmental issues, Norbord is campaigning against the burning of virgin wood.

The "Wise Owl" in the Use Wood Wisely animation takes the audience through the hierarchy of wood, explaining the various uses for wood before it is burnt -including the production of OSB, MDF and chipboard panels. These panels are used to produce all manner of items for homes and businesses for both people and animals. The animation highlights the need for legislation to protect UK wood to ensure that it is used ‘wisely' and ‘sensibly' in a sustainable way and that skewed subsidies that encourage the burning of UK wood is not the most logical solution and such initiatives should be re-thought.
