Maldon Festival wins a debbie&andrew's Micro-Sponsorship
The Maldon Festival is now in its seventh year of entertaining audiences from across the Essex region, offering an outstanding variety of music and performance. Just in time for the 2014 season (21stJune to 5thJuly), the Festival is delighted to announce it has been awarded a debbie&andrew's micro-sponsorship. debbie&andrew's sausages promise ‘ a real taste of the country'. Their commitment to the countryside goes beyond using only the best British meat in their products to include this micro-sponsorship scheme, designed to support rural communities and countryside projects.
Maldon Festival Director Colin Baldy commented "we are very grateful for debbie&andrew's support, stepping in at the last moment to provide vital funding to support our Jazz workshop and concert and helping with our fund raising activities". Other debbie&andrew's micro-sponsorships have generated over 500% return on the initial seed funding for their causes.
The Maldon Festival 2014 has taken the theme ‘War and Peace', to commemorate the 100thanniversary of World War One. International and local performers are being drawn together to stage music and master-classes which resonate with the anniversary. Whether from the period (as with the Edwardian evening pictured above) or reflecting themes of resolution and peace, the programme for 2014 will offer 15 outstanding performances across a two week period. It is the perfect example of a community venture supporting a rural area, the qualifying criteria for debbie&andrew's micro-sponsorships.To add extra flavour to the event, debbie&andrew's also are providing sausages for the organisers to use at a fund raising barbeque during the festival.
