Interior Supply – the definitive UK supplier of some of the finest European furniture to both private residents and professional British designers, celebrate one of the largest global gatherings within the fine furniture industry. The company founder, Jonathan Farrer gives his opinion on the growth of demand for contemporary furniture in the wake of the success of the 26th ICFF held in New York throughout May 2014.
The Event saw contemporary pieces from an outstanding collection of over 600 exhibits from a huge array of designers and industry specialists, each of which expertly provided their own flair and imagination into the stunningly beautiful designs that greeted in excess of 31,000 attendees. This prestigious event held annually brings together some of the most exciting and innovative examples of contemporary design in the 21st century from renowned studios and individuals across the world.
With the addition of the ten international contingents who attended this year, the ICFF confirmed furthermore its position as the North American centre of gravity for the ever expanding Global Design Trade. With attendance figures experiencing a 6% rise over last year’s event, there were clear signs of a significant rise in popularity, thanks to participating involvement from the BEDG (British European Design Group), Design Philippines, Brazilian Furniture, Furniture New York, Ceramics of Italy and many more.
Featuring an extraordinary and amazingly fun program packed full of special features and educational events, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair covered a comprehensive selection of talks, schools, studio applications, ICFF Editors awards and further proceedings. Making a definite mark in design events and continuing to bloom well into its third decade, ICCF organisers look confidently towards future events, the next occurring between the 16th till the 19th May 2015.
Jonathan Farrer, the man behind Interior Supply, spoke of the increase in demand from global clients for fine contemporary furniture, accrediting the success of the ICFF event as a catalyst to increase popularity even further:
“With over 20 years’ experience in sourcing unique pieces of the finest European furniture and supplying them to a collective of high calibre clients, I feel that events such as the ICFF hold a significant importance to increasing awareness and demand for the furniture and fittings I and other suppliers deliver.”
