The Nissan Qashqai has once again proved its worth after being named The Overall Winner at this year’s Tow Car Awards. The British-created car, launched in January 2014, also took home the 1,400kg-1,459kg category prize, further bolstering its claim as the most popular new vehicle in the caravan community.

The annual awards, which are decided by a selection of judges from magazines such as What Car? and Practical Caravan, as well as from the Camping and Caravanning Club amongst others, reviewed and undertook in-depth testing on a total of 56 different car models, before making their decision and declaring the Qashqai 1.6 dCi 130PS Acenta Premium the winner.

The model was complimented on its stand-out stability while moving at speed, smooth brake ability and impressive hill-start ability amongst others. The 430 litre boot that the vehicle boasts was also hailed by the Top Tow Car judges. The Nissan vehicle saw off competition from other leading rivals, including Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Skoda and Volkswagen.
