Interiors expert, Dee Gibson showcases her outstanding skill and style in the Windmill Penthouse, central London using real Lego and reclaimed pieces from churches, farmhouses and vintage yards
Penthouse apartment above iconic The Windmill Pub, Black Prince Road, London
The whole floor was built brand new but she wanted it to look like it had been there forever
Dee's company is called Velvet Orange and she persuaded the owner to have a her signature colour in the flat, in the form of a stunning bright orange Smeg fridge!
The hexagonal tiles were reclaimed from a French farm house as she wanted hexagons, not squares
The door is made out of £800 worth of REAL Lego
The interesting cupboard is made from church doors
The lights are reclaimed from vintage yards
Part of the brief was that he wanted bottle green tiles, so Dee put them very stylishly in the bathroom. The basin sits on top of an old fireplace heath that a joiner put together, this gives it a real aged look
The kitchen units are made of chocolate leather and the over has an antique mirrored splash back
The rest of the area is made up of steel and concrete whereas the pub, The Windmill, is very oldy worldy and quirky with lots of nooks and crannies so the flat above reflects this
Dee feels that this pub will be a landmark and had the brainwave of getting a graffiti artist (Stickman) to come in the dead of night to create some outside art
The project took about 6 months from start to finish
