Oleo launches new low energy buffer range at TOC Europe

This year's TOC Europe exhibition was marked by the official launch of a new low energy buffer range by UK energy absorption expert Oleo International.

The company, which exhibited at the event in June 2014, used the occasion to showcase its new solution for applications which require low energy absorption capabilities. The company's new Type 1 range of hydraulic buffers for the industrial sector was on display during the show, further expanding the company's low energy range for steel mills, process cranes and small overhead cranes and opening the door to new market sectors.

The range has been designed specially to bring the same reliability and efficiency advantages of gas hydraulics to lower energy applications. The range has both 50 and 100mm stroke options, is competitive for any application requiring up to 4 kJ of energy absorption and will be compatible for multiple mounting requirements. It has been engineered to be sold at a competitive price and is a stock product that can be sent out to customers at the short notice they require.

Oleo also used the occasion of TOC Europe to announce the introduction of the Type 21/250 and 21/300 products into its Type 21 range as low cost options - to grow what is already a popular range of industrial buffers.

The new Type 1 range wasn't the only new innovation on display from Oleo. The company also used the event to demonstrate its new Industrial Buffer Simulation Software, which is a powerful tool to give customers such as crane builders more information and control in specifying a buffer for an application and estimating the dynamic performance of the buffer when in service. Like Oleo's existing 1D Rail Simulation software, this application provides in-depth assessments of energy absorption applications to help ensure the protection of valuable machinery, structures and products.

As Oleo's first ever time exhibiting at the event, the company's Marketing Manager Sandy Andringa said she was delighted with the quality of people who visited the company's stand and enthused by the interest in the company's new products.

"We had a really positive response to our new buffers and our simulation software at TOC. The new buffers complement our existing range by offering cost effective and low energy capacity buffers. We are now able to provide an industrial buffer for any type of energy capacity.

"Like our simulation software, the new range is a result of our ongoing investment in research and development that ensures we are able to supply an energy absorption product to suit any requirement, all over the world."

This year's TOC Europe exhibition has been cited one of the best yet by organisers after over 3,500 people attended the three-day event in London. The next TOC Europe exhibition will be held in Rotterdam in 2015.
