New bedding manufacturer enjoys continued success

Press release - 21 July 2014

Specialist horse bedding producer, Caviera Bedding is pleased to announce a significant increase in sales and stockist numbers for 2014. A family business, launched in March 2012, originally supplied racing yards exclusively, but increased demand soon saw the product stocked by many independents and output has increased more than 40% this year alone to keep up with orders. The Caviera Bedding product range includes Raviera and Raviera Pro an Oil Seed Rape Straw and Cavianthus, a Miscanthus Grass (otherwise known as Elephant Grass) bedding.

Prior to developing the range Nick Walker, Director, listened to the needs and concerns of several top racing and competition yards to create a very high quality horse bedding as an alternative to more traditional materials on the market.

The entire range produced by Caviera Bedding is farmed, harvested, and processed on their site near Tickhill, South Yorkshire, allowing Nick to guarantee that every bag meets his high quality standards. The chopping process creates a very soft bedding that remains highly absorbent, which keeps its structure creating a good dense bed. All products go through a dust extraction process to prevent against allergies and unnecessary coughs and breathing irritations in the stable.

Raviera Pro, the bedding preferred by many competition and racing yards, goes through a sterilisation process to help protect against Bacteria and viruses such as:

  • Listeria monocytogens

  • MDRAB

  • Salmonella

  • Cold and Influenza

  • MRSA NORA

  • E-Coli 0157:H7

  • Psuedomonas aeruginosa

  • Staphylococcus aureus

  • Clostridium botulinum

It also protects against protein based Allergens such as:

  • Dust Mites

  • Dander

  • Yeasts

  • Pollen

  • Moulds

  • Fungus

Oil Seed Rape Straw and Miscanthus Grass are still new products to many horse owners and yard managers that include benefits such as:

  • Faster rotting of muck heaps and associated cost savings

  • Lighter weight aids easier and faster mucking out

  • Environmentally friendly, and a sustainable fast growing resource

  • Highly compressed, without clumping, each bag gives value for money
