One of the UK’s leading car leasing experts has reacted positively to the news that Volkswagen plan to see the new Passat saloon and estate going on sale later this autumn

Seen as Volkswagen’s entry to rival the likes of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the new Passat will feature both saloon and estate models and it will also be a first for UK drivers to be offered a plug-in Hybrid Passat, featuring a 1.4l petrol engine which works in combination with an electric motor, which alone can cover 31 miles on its own. Other features include extendable head-up display (HUD), optional gadgets such as a fully configurable 12.3in TFT console display, entertainment app-based package for tablet computers in the rear and a host of radars and sensors to assist the driver as standard.

Although there are many news articles currently circulating the internet at this moment that offer a pretty impressive picture of the new models, there is little from Volkswagens media representatives as of yet, although this hasn’t played down the excitement from members of the UK motoring industry who are waiting in anticipation of the UK launch date which is set for October 2014.
