UK Carline has responded to news that Peugeot is planning to release a new version of their successful 308 hatchback this year that, challenging the performance of the Golf GTD, as diesel technology reaches new heights

Reports suggest that Peugeot are set to release a re-engineered high performance diesel version of its already popular 308 hatchback, with industry experts believing that they me be planning to challenge the Golf GTD. Featuring the new 178 bhp 2.0l Blue HDi engine, this will be a flagship diesel model for Peugeot, with prices expected to be around the £24,000 mark.

In addition to the new 308, Peugeot plan to present their 208 GTi 30 year anniversary model. The Peugeot 208 GTi is due to hit UK forecourts by November this year, which could mean a double ace in 2014 for the French automobile manufacturer.

A spokesperson for Peugeot couldn’t be reached at the time of press but reports from leading car sites have spoken highly of Peugeot’s latest powerhouse.
