Free family fun to help communities get

‘Fit for the Future'

A family fun day for all the family is set to launch a summer programme of events in Stafford designed to help local residents make the most of the services provided by Stafford and Rural Homes and other community partners.

The event in Prospect Road, Coton Fields on Friday, August 1, is open to everyone who lives or works in the area and will include a wide range of free activities including face painting, football skills, balloon modelling and an inflatable gladiator pit.

Part of the SARH ‘Fit for the Future' campaign it will also include the opportunity to find out more about money advice, tips on health and well-being, getting online and information on the Governments welfare reforms.

Chris Plant, Head of Housing Management at SARH explained: "The first Fit for the Future event promises to be a fantastic day for everyone, regardless of their age. There's something for everyone. While the children are kept entertained, parents can find out more about the ways we can help them meet some of the challenges they face. There is an opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts and opinions about the community they live in, whilst hearing the latest news from our Neighbourhood Services Team."

The event at Prospect Road takes place between 1.00 and 4.00pm and will be followed by similar Fit for the Future fun days in Merry Road, Burton Moor (Friday, August 8), Priory Road, Stone (Friday, August 15) and Perrin Close, Silkmore (Friday, August 22).

Karen Armitage, SARH Chief Executive, added: "The Fit for the Future programme reflects our commitment to being much more than just a provider of social housing. It demonstrates our commitment to working with partners to be a driving force when it comes to building communities whilst providing people with the skills and knowledge they need to flourish and improve their own lives.''
